Anal Fissure is a disease of lower part of rectum( anal canal) due to tear of its wall

Actual causes of this painful condition is unknown but it may be affected due to high anal spasm, sudden bad constipation and familial history may be responsible.

In acute anal fissure ( Suddenly starts): patients feel sudden severe pain in his/her anal region, there may be bleeding also
In chronic fissure( chronic anal fissure): Patients feel anal discomfort or mild pain in anal region. occasional bleeding that may occurs due to constipation. some anal skin tag( feeling of some thing extra in anal region) .

When patients with such symptoms goes the doctor we can diagnose the anal fissure from history followed by inspection( examination) of anus.

Anal fissure does not require any investigation for diagnosis, clinical history and inspection of anal area is probably sufficient to make the diagnosis but if we suspect some other condition in the anal canal that may be similar presentation like rectal polyp or rectal cancer in that cases we can advice for proctoscopy or colonoscopy.
๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ณ๐ถ๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ?
Adequate fiber intake, stool softener like ispergul ( laxative) or any other medicine that is available commercially like rectal gel or ointment and analgesic may help to improve this condition. But vast majority of the patients symptoms recurs( repeated symptoms).
๐ฆ๐๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐: In many patients symptoms occurs repeatedly( recurrence of symptoms) that affects his/ her daily life and conservative treatment doesnโt work to relief the symptoms in those patients require surgical treatment.
๐ ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป ๐๐๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐/ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐( ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ณ๐ถ๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ): The modern treatment( Laser sphincterotomy) is the best surgical treatment option in both acute and chronic anal fissure.
